What Shipped
An unsubscribe used to be all or nothing. Someone who left your newsletter also lost the product updates you send from another domain. Bringing an old provider’s opt-outs across meant marking every one of them unsubscribed from everything. Now every marketing domain keeps its own unsubscribe list. The unsubscribe link takes a person off the domain that sent the email. Unsubscribe from all still opts them out of every marketing send. Two Ways to Leave
- This domain. The unsubscribe link puts the address on the sending domain’s list. That domain stops emailing them. Your other marketing domains still can.
- All mail. Unsubscribe from all opts the contact out of every marketing send, from every domain.
Bring Your Old List
Brew tracks new unsubscribes on its own. To bring opt-outs from somewhere else, it works like adding contacts to your audience.1
Open the domain's list
Go to Domains, pick the domain that replaces your old sender, and
choose View list.
2
Import a CSV or add people
Import CSV takes another provider’s export, up to 10,000 rows per
file. Add people takes addresses one per line, or separated by commas.
3
Brew skips them from then on
An existing contact stops getting this domain’s marketing. An address
that isn’t a contact yet is opted out of every domain.
See How Each Domain Trends
Under the list, Activity shows the last 90 days for that domain. See unsubscribes over time, one-click versus the confirm page, and the reasons people chose. Export all downloads the whole list as CSV.From an Agent or Code
Ask your agent to “import this suppression list into mail.acme.com.” It callsimport_domain_unsubscribes, or add_domain_unsubscribes for a few
addresses. Code uses /v1/domains/{domainId}/unsubscribes to list, add,
import, export, or remove.
