Connect your Customer.io account to send emails created in Brew through Customer.io. This is ideal if you already use Customer.io for email and want to leverage Brew’s AI capabilities for creating emails.

Setup

1

Open the Customer.io integration in Brew

In Brew, go to Integrations and click the Customer.io card.
2

Create an App API Key in Customer.io

In Customer.io, go to Settings → Account Settings → API Credentials → App API Keys. Click Create App API key and give it a name.
Copy the API key immediately - this is the only time you’ll be able to see it. Make sure you use an App API key, not a Tracking API key.
3

Paste the API Key and select your region

Go back to Brew, paste the API key, and make sure your datacenter region matches the one in Customer.io (US or EU). Then click Connect.
Not sure which region you’re on? Check your Customer.io dashboard URL - EU accounts use fly.customer.io or have eu in the URL.
That’s it - Customer.io is now connected to Brew.

Sending Through Customer.io

Once connected, you can send any email through Customer.io:
  1. Open an email you’ve created in Brew
  2. Click Send
  3. Choose to send through Customer.io instead of Brew
You’ll still create and design your emails in Brew, but they get delivered through your Customer.io account.

Requirements

  • A Customer.io account
  • An App API key (not a Tracking API key)
  • Your datacenter region (US or EU)
