# Framer

> Send Framer form submissions to Brew so a signup on your Framer site starts an automation, like a welcome email, and adds the person as a contact.

Connect [Framer](https://www.framer.com) forms to Brew so a signup on your site
starts an automation. Someone submits the form, Brew adds them as a contact,
and your welcome email goes out.

<Warning>
  Every marketing recipient must have opted in to hear from you. Importing or syncing contact data into Brew is not permission to email it. See [What You Can Send](/get-started/what-you-can-send).
</Warning>

## Set It Up

<Steps>
  <Step title="Connect Framer in Brew">
    Open **Integrations** and click the **Framer** card. Brew gives you a form
    webhook URL for your brand.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send the form to Brew">
    In Framer, open your form's settings and send its submissions to a
    webhook. Paste the URL from Brew.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Submit a test entry">
    Fill in the form on your published site. The submission shows up in Brew,
    and the form appears as a trigger named **Form**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What a Submission Carries

Each submission fires the form's trigger with these fields:

| Field | Notes |
| - | - |
| `email` | Required. Brew adds or updates the contact by this address. |
| `firstName` | Optional |
| `lastName` | Optional |
| `location` | Optional |

Use them as [merge tags](/create-emails/merge-tags). Give a fallback to
anything a visitor can leave blank, such as `{{ firstName | there }}`.

## Send a Welcome Email

Build an automation on the **Form** trigger with a Send Email step, then
publish it. See [Build an Automation](/create-emails/build-an-automation). The
next submission starts it, and the email arrives personalized with the
person's name.

From an agent, `check_trigger` over [MCP](/api-reference/mcp/tools) confirms
the trigger is ready and lists the published automations it starts.
