# Send Your First Email

> Send your first on-brand email in Brew, refine it with one prompt, and receive a test in your inbox when you are new to the app.

In about five minutes, you will create an on-brand welcome email and receive it in your own inbox.

<Note>
  Before you begin, sign in to Brew and finish [adding your brand](/get-started/add-your-brand). You do not need to verify a sending domain.
</Note>

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create a welcome email">
    Open **Home**, paste this prompt into the chat, and submit it:

    > Create and save a welcome email for new customers. Use the subject line "Welcome aboard", the headline "Welcome aboard", a warm two-sentence opening, and one button labeled "Get started".

    The chat shows that Brew is generating your email.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Watch the email appear">
    Keep **Home** open while Brew works. A new email appears on the canvas beside the chat.

    Wait until generation finishes. You should see **Welcome aboard** at the top of the email and one **Get started** button below the two-sentence opening.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Make one edit">
    Paste this sentence into the same chat and submit it:

    > Change the second sentence of the opening paragraph to "We're glad you're here."

    Wait for the edit to finish.

    The opening paragraph on the canvas should now end with **We're glad you're here.**
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send a test">
    Select the email on the canvas, then click **Test** in its toolbar.

    Enter your own email address and click **Send test**.

    Brew confirms that the test was sent. The test uses Brew's default sender, so no verified sending domain is needed.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the email">
    Open your inbox and select the message with the subject **Welcome aboard**.

    You should see the same headline, opening paragraph, and **Get started** button that appeared on the canvas.
  </Step>
</Steps>
